Audi F1 driver Gabriel Bortoleto will take part in a Stock Car Pro Series SIM event at Interlagos, the series confirmed after initially teasing the news on April 1.
The Stock Car Pro Series announced that Bortoleto will join the sim racing action during a Stock Car weekend at the iconic São Paulo circuit. The series had first hinted at the appearence on April Fools’ Day, leading most fans to dismiss it, but has now confirmed it is very much real.
The crossover makes perfect sense for the 21-year-old Brazilian. Bortoleto is an avid sim racer who has been a Team Redline ambassador since 2023, regulary practicing alongside Max Verstappen. He holds an iRating of approximately 8,700 on iRacing and reportedly spends seven to eight hours a day on his simulator rig.
Interlagos also holds special significance for Bortoleto beyond Formula 1. In 2022, he made his Stock Car Pro Series debut at the circuit as a guest driver alongside Gaetano Di Mauro, becoming the youngest driver ever to start a Stock Car race at just 17 years old. His father, Lincoln Oliveira, is the CEO of Vicar, the organisation that operates the Stock Car Pro Series.
Bortoleto is currently in his second season in Formula 1 with Audi, continuing to develope alongside the team as it builds towards competitiveness under the 2026 regulations.
